The Mills 2025 edition of the Weaving Wall has been unveiled. Curated by In Time Of, in collaboration with visual artist UUendy Lau and the weaving art group Breakthrough Art Studio, this year’s new Weaving Wall draws inspiration from the second chapter of Chan Wai’s short story A Love Letter to Kapok. This vibrant installation serves as a heartfelt tribute to Hong Kong, beautifully woven through the symbolism of cotton trees.
The cotton tree reminds us to cherish those around us and to appreciate the happiness right in front of us. Towering over our streets, it has quietly witnessed the evolution of our city, our textile industry, and our lives. As a silent observer, it captures the joys and sorrows of this land, documenting our everyday experiences and dreams.
This project seamlessly integrates literature, visual arts, weaving, and performance art, inviting community members to stitch their cherished memories and hopes into the fabric of the wall.
